Sugar Salon West Hartford Grand Re-Opening

A few weekends ago I had the pleasure of attending Sugar Salon's grand re-opening in West Hartford. The salon is funky and stylish and Angela and her team are super fun & talented, so be sure to visit them if you are looking to update your style! Check out their website for more photos and information.

Angela was also the creator of 'Beauty from Desk to Drinks' which was a 21 day beauty & health series, focusing on how to achieve great makeup, hair, skin and wellness on a busy schedule. I was on her panel of experts and you can see my interview here where I talk about what to apply if you only have 5 minutes to get ready in the morning and give you a peek at my makeup must-haves.

"Desk to Drinks" Interview & A Look into My Makeup Bag

My interview with Sugar Salon for their series: Beauty from Desk to Drinks is out today! Click on over and have a listen (the password is: Sugar), I let you know what to focus on if you only have 5 minutes to get ready in the morning and share some tips on how to look fresh and natural.

In the video, I mentioned a few of my must-have products, so I thought I'd give you a quick peek at the staple items that never leave my makeup bag!

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask: This lip mask is great on its own or over lipstick, it is extremely nourishing and smells delicious!
Kat Von D Tattoo Liquid Liner: This is my favorite liquid liner for a cat-eye, its firm tip is precise and the color comes out super black.
Anastasia Brow Wiz: This pencil is the easiest way to fill in brows! It takes only seconds to use and your brows never look overdone.
Caudalie Beauty Elixir: This refreshing mist is a toner, setting spray and serum, it tingles, smells divine and really wakes me up while making my skin glow!
Dior Lip Glow: This tinted balm changes color to suit your skin tone and revives any lipstick shade that has began to wear off.
Beauty Blender: This sponge is my favorite way to apply foundation and concealer, it gives a flawless, streak-free coverage every time!

What are some of your beauty essentials?

Sephora Senior Artist Training

A few weeks ago I flew out to San Francisco to participate in Sephora's Senior Artistry training and certification process. There were 102 Sephora cast members invited to the training, so I had a ton of fun meeting makeup enthusiasts from all over the country. The week was intense, full of testing, skill practices and makeup applications, but it was amazing meeting so many cool brands and artists (I even met Anastasia, the eyebrow queen herself, from Anastasia Beverly Hills)! I had to wait on pins and needles for the last few weeks to hear my results, but today I was notified that I was one of the 45 that passed! So I am super excited, and I wanted to share some of the photos from the training and the BEAUTIFUL city of San Francisco.

The beautiful city of San Francisco!

Practicing some face chart styles and getting ready for classes, can you tell we focused on contour & highlight?

Meeting Gilbert Soliz, Lijha and the Make Up For Ever team, Anastasia Soare, and Marisa of Sephora Collection

Hanging out and getting to know my fellow CT Senior Artist candidates: Laura, Ayriel and Cheryl.

Eating all the garlic a person could handle at 'The Stinking Rose'. It was absolutely DIVINE!

Exploring Powell St. Sephora and the HUGE beauty department in Macy's where I got these awesome Inglot shadows.

All in all it was an amazing learning experience and career building opportunity, but most importantly- I am so lucky to have met these three other lovely Connecticut ladies: Laura, Ayriel and Cheryl, I had so much fun exploring the city, finding the best restaurants, and just getting to know you guys! I hope we get to work together in the future, as Senior Artists or otherwise.

Allure Magazine Beauty Blogger Awards 2014

So excited to announce that Allure Magazine named me one of the Top 15 Beauty Bloggers in the USA. Even though I didn't make it into the top ten to be able to compete for the #1 spot, I am super excited to even be recognized by such a huge publication! Thanks so much Allure!

Super exciting things are still coming from this opportunity, and I can't wait to be able to share it with you guys!
